The blue, water beaches and lush, waterfront mansions surrounding the island make it one spectacular place to swim and party. Bring your snorkel and gloves, you can find lobster in the rocks and grill them right on the island.
Bayside Marina Live Music – Miamarina at Bayside is located in Downtown Miami off the Intracoastal waterway. Pull into the marina by boat and see a city center called Bayside Marketplace, full of stores, restaurants, and a band shell. Most evenings, you can enjoy a concert by land or water!
Picnic Island Party – The Picnic Islands are uninhabited Islands in northern Biscayne Bay from Edgewater to the upper eastside of Miami. Boaters and picnickers frequently flock to the area for the beautiful beaches, great city views, and tranquil relaxation. Because there are many islands in this stretch, there is something for everyone. Whether you are looking for a private island to land on and spend the day alone, get away from it all, or go to the party island, there are so many options! Stiltsville Exploration and History – In 1933, a man by the name of “Crawfish” Eddie Walker built the first home on Stilts about one mile from shore, for legal reasons. This allowed “Eddie’s Island Kingdom” to not only sell beer, bait, and crawfish chowder but also to become a legal gambling den just one mile offshore. Stories of illegal alcohol and gambling in the 1960’s led to police raids of the areas hot spots including Bikini Club and Quarterdeck Club. At its peak, twenty-seven homes were built but hurricanes and fires have ravaged many of them. Today only seven Stiltsville homes are standing, accessible only by boat and seeming to float on the reflective clouds of Biscayne Bay’s shallow, crystal clear waters. Rent a Boat from Rent a Boat Miami and Club Nautico help you explore before it is gone forever. There is a beautiful sandbar where you can swim and enjoy the views just as early Americans once did!
Sandspur Island Racoons – Just west of the beautiful, blue, water sandbar of Haulover there are a few Islands just north of the Miami Picnic Islands called Beer-Can Island and Sandspur Island. Beer Can is known for the party scene while Sandspur Island is the larger of the islands and is usually enjoyed by family and friends. During many visits to this island, you will be greeted by the locals – the large families of raccoons that call this island home are often interacting with humans and would seem “tame”. I have seen countless interactions, but one must still be cautious as they are wild animals. Miami Animal Control stats they have all been treated for rabies, but please be careful!
Nixon Sandbar Swimming – Rent a Boat with Club Nautico and ask for the water mat! Nixon Sandbar is located on the southwest side of Key Biscayne and at the northern tip of Biscayne National Park. From this crystal clear, water sandbar, one can swim and lay on the water mat while enjoying the sites of local celebrity homes such as Jennifer Aniston, Brad Pitt, Cher, Mary Joe Fernandez, and the late Richard Nixon to name a few.
Miami River Exploration – The Miami River evolved over thousands of years from the ocean tides mixing with the freshwater stream from the everglades to Biscayne Bay. Miami river is the oldest natural landmark in southeast Florida. The word “Miami” derives from an Indian language said to mean “Sweet Water”. Cruising down modern Miami river, you will pass beautiful skyscrapers that light up the night sky. Once you pass the manmade island of Brickey Key, you will see how Miami uses the landmark to split two busy areas in Miami: Downtown Miami to the North and Brickel Key, Brickel, and Brickel City Center to the south. Many restaurants and night clubs flood the shoreline of the river and the endless afternoon activities draw people here daily! Rent a boat with a captain to see this magical area and remember to try a night cruise; the city is truly magical at night especially from the beautiful waterway!
Haulover Sandbar Party – Just north of Miami and the Picnic Islands, there is a blue-water sandbar where all the local boats gather almost daily. Be sure to check this area out at high tide, because this is when the clearest waters can be experienced. This is a great place to bring the water mat and just play in the sun and the waters of paradise. Boat rentals are made easy with Rent a Boat Miami, Club Nautico for all your boating needs!
Miami Stadium Wakeboarding Adventure – Just over the Rickenbacker Causeway in a cove off Virginia Key is the iconic Miami Stadium. At the mouth of the cove, there is an island where some of the guests can swim and hang out while the others tube or wakeboard in the cove. Amazing pictures can be taken by our professional captains, so stop in and rent a boat today!
North Miami Wakeboarding Adventures – There are few places to wakeboard in Miami but they do exist. One experience you are sure to remember is this: wakeboarding past 5-20 million dollar mansions with the wind at your feet and back! Pictures are worth a thousand words, and this one is sure to boost your Instagram following!
No Name Harbor Visits – Located on the southern end of Key Biscayne, nuzzled into a hidden cove, is No Name Marina. (should be harbor or marina-fix) Boaters Grill is a wonderful place to grab a bite and experience the local flavors while kicking back with an ice cold beverage!
Key Biscayne Clear Water Exploration – South of this key, you will find true paradise waters just like Key West and Bimini Bahamas. Soldier Key, Boca Chita, Sands Key, and Elliot Key are just a few within a short boat ride. These keys are inaccessible by car and only enjoyed by boat. A few times a year, there are big events on these keys such as Columbus Day Regatta Sand Bar Party. Also, many beautiful dive sites are available such as the Mandalay Shipwreck that sank in 1966 and sits in just fifteen feet of water; perfect for an afternoon snorkeling expedition. Another attraction to see is the Lugano wreck, sitting in twenty-five feet of water and just off Long Reef. Come explore with us, and call Club Nautico for all your boat rental needs!
Night Island Party with a Bonfire – Bachelor and Bachelorette parties welcome – in the southern picnic islands of Biscayne Bay, there is a party island known as Pace Picnic Island. A party such as “Castaways” is held here with all the hottest DJ’s of Miami. This Island has a beautiful, Miami city skyline view and at night; it is breathtaking! This uninhabited island is sure to make any party experience one for the books! Bonfires and boat parties are here on Friday and Saturday nights and are the place to be and be seen! Only a few people can ever say they have experienced Miami like this. Most do bottle service at the night clubs while select few throw their own parties and transform the islands to an island party. Club Nautico has generators, DJ equipment, and speakers if you want to throw your own Island party!
